Who we are, and who we are not

This site is an independent affiliate comparison site for the boat cruises under the Cliffs of Moher. We are not a boat operator, we run no sailings, and we are not the Doolin operator that trades as Cliffs of Moher Cruises at cliffsofmohercruises.ie. We compare the real, currently bookable cruises, and when you book one through us we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every booking itself happens on the operator's own listing.

Which links are affiliate links

Every "Check availability" button on a cruise card, and most in-text links that open a listing, point to GetYourGuide or Viator and carry our partner tag. The nine cruises compared here are split across those two platforms. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is identical to the price you would see going straight to that listing, because our cut comes out of the platform's margin and is never added to your ticket.

Those are the only affiliate relationships on this site: GetYourGuide and Viator for the cruises and boat tours. There is no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid reviews. If another network is ever added, this page and the footer disclosure will name it before the first link goes live, not after.

The parts of a Cliffs of Moher day that pay us nothing

Worth saying plainly, because for some travellers they are the better answer. The clifftop itself is the separate one. The Cliffs of Moher Experience visitor centre, O'Brien's Tower and the walking paths are a land ticket about 8 km from Doolin Pier by road, booked through the visitor centre rather than through us, and a cruise never includes it. The coast around Doolin, the walk out to the pier and the view from the Burren cost nothing to enjoy, and we earn nothing on them either. A pure Aran Islands ferry with no cliff-cruise leg, and any operator-direct charter that does not sell on the platforms we use, are described in the guides where they help but are never a card you can book through this site. All of it gets its say wherever it beats a ticket we could earn on.

The one part of your day we can earn on is the cruise itself. The listings run from the short cliff sailing straight out of Doolin Pier up to a full guided day from Galway or Dublin that builds the boat into a coach tour, and every card shows the current from-price on its live listing so you can pick on cost as easily as on style. We could quietly push the longer, pricier days. Instead the lineup opens with the core Doolin cliff cruise, the most-reviewed boat on the board.

What it does not change

• Inclusion. Every cruise that clears the tests is here: a real, currently bookable cliff cruise or Cliffs-and-Aran trip on GetYourGuide or Viator, run by an operator that actually sails under the Cliffs of Moher, with published details. Nine listings cleared that bar, across the three Doolin Pier cruises, three Cliffs-and-Aran combinations and three guided day tours from Galway and Dublin.
• Ordering. No operator can buy a position and none has been offered one. Where a category leads with one boat, that boat is the most-reviewed or most-booked in its section, a rule you can check yourself against the numbers on the cards.
• What we say about them. The core Doolin cruise carries hundreds of reviews and a smaller listing only a handful, and the cards print both as they are. Where a listing keeps its rating on the live page rather than publishing a settled one, its card sends you there rather than to a number we could not stand behind.
• What we leave out. The clifftop Cliffs of Moher Experience visitor centre is a land admission, not a boat trip, so it is never sold here as a cruise card; where it comes up in a day tour, it is a distinct part of the day added to the boat. Pure Aran ferries with no cliff leg, operator-direct-only charters and boat trips on other coasts are real but do not fit the money cards, so they are covered in the guides and never dressed up as a bookable card.
• Things we earn nothing from. The clifftop visitor centre, the Doolin coast, the Burren viewpoints and the walk to the pier. They still get their say wherever they beat a paid ticket.

Ratings, review counts and prices

Every rating and review count on this site is the platform's own published number at the time we checked it, read off the live listing. Nothing is averaged across platforms, rounded up or invented, and where a figure could not be read cleanly it was left off rather than guessed. Small samples are shown at their real size, so a high rating across a couple of dozen reviews is printed as exactly that rather than as proof of anything.

Prices work the same way and come with a bigger caveat. What you see is a current from-price, the cheapest option on that listing when it was read. What you actually pay moves with the date, the option you pick and, most of all, your locale and the season, so the live listing is always the authority. The full guided days from Galway and Dublin cost more than the short Doolin cliff cruise because they are far longer days that include coach travel and, on some, a clifftop stop.

The Doolin cliff cruises run through the consolidated Doolin group (the Doolin Ferry Company, which trades as Cliffs of Moher Cruises, Doolin2Aran Ferries and the Doolin Ferry Co. listing); the Cliffs-and-Aran and day trips run through Wild Atlantic Way Day Tours, Aran Island Ferries, the Galway Tour Company, Paddywagon Tours and Irish Day Tours, and each one is named on its card. We would genuinely rather you got out onto the Atlantic on whichever deck suits you. The comparisons, the cost breakdown, the FAQ and the guides work exactly as well as research whether or not you ever click a booking link.
